Case in point:  We were the go to advisors for a large company CEO / owner who was mired in several major issues with the Government.  The company had a team of professionals which included legal firms, Public Relations firms, Risk and Damage management company, an accounting firm, and several political liaisons.  We were called in as a personal representative by the CEO to keep her apprised of all the proceedings and the workings of the different teams, and keep her notified of the several interactions and proceedings.  But most importantly, she wanted us to help her understand the maze and complexities in which she and the Board members had to make important decisions.  We were the neutral party that presented the situation to her in a sensible manner and in which she could ask us any question, or what all the options and alternatives meant, and what we suggested.

Contract  Performance

Contract Administration Arm:

We will act as your contract administration arm.  If your company is a small business, this will give you the same advantage and clout as a large prime contractor. 

Alternatively, we support your contract management so that performance runs smoothly, and potential issues are addressed before they become large problems.  If you desire more efficiency, we instruct, train, and oversee administration activities of existing Contract Administration departments or select personnel.

Performance Problems:

We know what to do if contract performance problems arise, or when the customer increases the scope of work by changing the contract requirements, inspection procedures, or the date of delivery.

We support your company in the training of your contracts personnel; in how to alert company staff in pre-problem awareness; in recognition of increased costs; in methods to eliminate potential contractual problems; and in maintaining excellent working relationships with the Government.

Remedies

Claims:

We have extensive experience in preparing, presenting, and negotiating claims.  It is critical for your company to understand the potential risks involved in the federal procurement industry. A large portion of these risks can be identified within the proposal development stages as well as during contract performance and contract closeout.  We can guide and educate your team to avoid and/or mitigate your risks.

However, sometimes it is necessary to present a claim against the Government on your contract.  Claims address contract performance problems that arise when the customer increases the scope of work by changing the contract requirements, inspection procedures, or the date of delivery.  Claims are often necessary when these changes have had a detrimental impact on the contractor because of increased costs without compensation by the Government.  We author or assist your team in writing, presenting, and negotiating your company’s claims.

Negotiations:

We negotiate claim disputes and settlements on your company’s behalf.  We maintain the end goal of good working relationships with the customer for future work.
